If you are troubling through your Gmail account, it could be that you are not only the victim. The service may be down for everybody or it may be particularly for you. It’s better to check the current status of Gmail. Follow the steps for the same:
- You need to access the Google status Dashboard
- Go to the current status column and if you see a green radio button then everything is working fine. However, an orange radio button indicates Gmail service disruptions and if the radio button is red then it shows a service outage.
- You may check for the particular date if radio button is either orange or red. It will give you an overall idea about what’s going on.

Possible causes when Gmail stuck on loading

>>Forgot Password– We commonly use more than one email account and create different passwords for all of them. Sometimes, we create quite lengthy passwords for security reasons and forget. You can recover your Gmail password using your registered phone number or secondary email ID. Every time you login, you’ll receive a verification code on your phone. You have to enter the verification code to proceed further. But, what if you don’t get the code?
See, Google sends you a verification code by SMS. Hence, you must ensure that your mobile phone has a good signal. If mobile network issue persists in your area then you may face the trouble.
If it is really urgent to log in to your account then you can use backup codes. Google offers backup codes just in case you lose your phone and hence unable to receive an authentication code. You can use backup codes only once. Soon, you use the code, it will get deactivated automatically.
If you want to generate a set of codes then you need to go to the two-step verification page and find the backup codes areas. Hit on Get new codes. It will allow you to download a text file.
How to use backup codes- Go to the Gmail sign-in page and enter your login credentials. When asked for two-step verification, hit More options. Enter the code and you can now use your Gmail account.
>>Sync Errors: If Gmail is not synced properly, it will create a number of troubles for you. You may not be able to access all your emails; you can’t send new email or you may get an account not synced error. Please follow these steps to resolve sync errors:
- Please make sure that you use an updated version of Gmail app. If not, then update your app.
- Restart your device and check whether the problem is fixed.
- Confirm you have sound network connectivity.
- Open your Gmail account setting and ensure sync is on. It is not essential but sometimes we make sync option off accidentally.
- Try to clear you Gmail application data and restart the device.
Gmail won’t load in browser
What if you want to access your Gmail account in a web browser and the webpage is unable to load. First, you need to sure that you use a supported web browser. Gmail works absolutely fine on the latest version of Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Edge.
Sometimes, several applications or extensions restrict Gmail to work properly on browser. Just to confirm, try to open your Gmail account in the incognito window. If it works fine there then disable extensions one-by-one and check which one is creating trouble.
Sometimes, you find Gmail won’t load error due to cookies or temporary files. Try to clear your cache and cookies and re-login to your account.
Gmail not working on android
If your Gmail not receiving emails on android then there could be various possible reasons:
>>Make sure that you are using a latest version of Gmail app. If not, then update your Gmail app from play store.
>>Restart your device and check whether it is working fine.
>>Please check the following through your android phone setting:
- You are online
- Airplane mode is not active
- Gmail sync setting is properly configured
>>If you are running out of storage space then clear the same. You can do the same by installing unnecessary apps, downloaded files etc.
>>Double-verify whether you are entering a right password.
>>Remove Gmail information and restart the device.
Gmail not working on iPhone/MAC
You are quite sure about your password and still your Gmail account is not working. Or, Gmail was working fine on your iPhone before and suddenly stopped working. Here’s what to do:
>>Go to the Gmail website and check for alerts: Your app might not be able to give you reason why you are unable to login on iPhone. So, open your computer and go to the Gmail website. Log in to your account and check whether you have received any alert like “Someone else knows your password” or “we temporary blocked your sign-in attempt”.
>>Check out recent device login: For the same, you need to open Device activity and notification section on Google’s My account website. You’ll find a list device on which you attempted to login to your account. Unblock the device you’d like to use for login.
>>Go for CAPTCHA Reset: It can unblock some of the Google’s security features and you may be able to login to your account.
>>Whether IMAP is enabled: If IMAP is disabled in your Gmail’s setting then it may restrict you from accessing your account. Check out the same and enable it.
>>Uninstall and install Gmail app again: You may remove the Gmail app for once and reinstall the same to check if it is working.
